M.I.A.: Missing In Action

Developed by: GT Interactive (1998)
Genre: Arcade style Vietnam War helicopter sim
System Requirements: Window 95, P133 or greater, 16 MB RAM, 4x CD ROM, 190 MB HD Space (including 50 MB swap file), DirectX compatible 16 bit sound card, 3Dfx card (recommended), 28.8 modem or better, Joystick, Mouse.

OVERVIEW: Right off the bat let me say that this is a unique sim. There is no cockpit view- it's arcade style (i.e. looking over the back of your helicopter with targeting cursor on the ground in front of you in 3D) and it is set in the Vietnam War. See what I mean about M.I.A. being unique? How many other Vietnam War arcade style 3D games are there? Hmmm... Well, M.I.A. is it- and it's a pretty cool game at that!

This economy priced 2 CD game gives players the chance to pilot the era's most advanced helicopters (including the AH-1 Cobra gunship, UH-1 Huey, UH-1 Huey "Hog" gunship, and the OH-6 Loach- just to name a few) in 26 challenging missions (everything from ground support to M.I.A. rescues) over a ten year period (1965 to 1975). Get ready for some of the hottest, seat-of-your-pants flying available as you fly through missile, anti-aircraft and small arms fire!

The graphics are 3Dfx supported so if you have a Voodoo/Voodoo 2 card you will love the game texture! This is a very attractive game to look at and play.
